Eleanor G. Primm

Miss Primm, age 86, died peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2003 at Wilora Lake Healthcare. She had been a resident of Wilora Lake for over eight years. Born June 24, 1917 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur LeRoy and Martha K. Primm.

Miss Primm was a member of Thomasboro Presbyterian Church prior to joining First Presbyterian Church in 1993. She was active in her church, serving as Sunday school teacher, Bible leader in the women's circles, and church historian. She retired from Barnhardt Brothers as secretary/receptionist. In her retirement she enjoyed reading, traveling, cross stitch and attending concerts.

Survivors include her sister, Elizabeth P. Barnett; her brother, Roy P. Primm, and his wife Sue; nephew Tom Primm, and his wife Melissa; great nephews, Chris Primm and Matt Primm; and several cousins. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Shapiro and his staff, Dr. Clements, and the staff at Wilora Lake Lodge, The Cove and Healthcare Center for their loving care.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at Harry and Bryant "Chapel in the Oaks," 500 providence Road, Charlotte, NC with the Reverend Dr. William P. Wood, senior minister of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will follow the service at Harry and Bryant. Burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to the Television Ministry at First Presbyterian Church, 200 West Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Sue Moore Primm

Mrs. Primm, of Charlotte, died on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Blake and Laura Smith Moore.

Mrs. Primm was a native of Rowan County, Salisbury, NC and graduated from Woodlief High School. She was a faithful employee of Folger Buick for over 55 years, where many customers and employees, past and present, shared her love and beautiful smile. Mrs. Primm was a lifelong Presbyterian and member of First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. She previously served as an elder, was active in the Chapel Bible Class, a life member and past president of the Women of the Church, former Sunday school teacher, Circle Bible Leader and an avid daily Bible reader.

Mrs. Primm is survived by her beloved husband of over 59 years, Roy J. Primm; her son, Thomas L. Primm and wife, Melissa, of Carolina Beach, NC; and two grandsons, Christopher Primm and Matthew Primm. She is also survived by her sisters, Reba Safley and husband, John, of Salisbury, NC, Rena Hair of Pinehurst, NC, and brothers, Earle Moore and wife, Nancy, of Salisbury, NC, and Harold Moore and wife, Sue, of Winston-Salem, NC. Additionally, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Barnett of Charlotte, NC and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Barron Moore and her sister, Mary Lou Cauble, both of Salisbury, NC, and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Primm of Charlotte.

A memorial service in celebration of Mrs. Primm's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 200 West Trade Street, Charlotte, NC on Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to First Presbyterian TV Ministry Fund, 200 West Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, or to Presbyterian Hospice Homecare, PO Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28233-3549.

General Notes: Killed in action during World War II. His plane was shot down on 12 Oct 1944 near Kiirun, Formosa. His remains were not discovered until 10 May 1946. The remains were shipped to the Honolulu Memorial Cemetery in Hawaii, Plot C Row 0 Grave 28. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the actions against the Japanese in the Philippine Islands on September 29, 1944.

The cause of his death was heart attack.

General Notes: 1930 census lists Jack as Carlton E. The family story goes that his name was to have Earl in it (possibly after the deceased Milton Earl - Milton was already taken by the older brother), but Myrtle hated that name. She heard the name Jack Dempsy on the radio and decided to name him Jack Carlton. Whoever gave out the census information didn't know that, or else he was named later.

Enlisted in Army at Fort Bragg, NC on 29 Nov 1945.

Jack Rohleder, 68, of Sharon Road died march 23, 1996, at Mercy Hospital South.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rohleder will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 1996, at McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel, with the Reverend John Boggs officiating. Committal will follow at 3:30 pm. in Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham, NC. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at McEwen Pineville Chapel.

Mr. Rohleder was born September 17, 1927, in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Andrew Hamilton Rohleder Jr. and Myrtle Primm Rohleder. He was a 1945 graduate of Rockingham High School, a former member of First Methodist Church in Rockingham and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and the Civitan Club.

He worked as a field engineer with Burroughs for 37 years. Mr. Rohleder was an associate member of the U.S.S. Intrepid Association.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Betty Rohleder of Charlotte; daughter, Ann R. Stephens and her husband, Eric, of Pittsburgh [sic], CA; son, Carl Rohleder and his wife, Rhonda, of Mooresville, NC; daughter, Ruth R. Hesson and her husband, Tom of Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Gretchen Rohleder, Paige Rohleder and Zachary Hesson; brother, Bill Rohleder and his wife, Pat, or Reno, NV; an aunt, Margaret Rohleder of Charlotte; and stepmother, Maurice Rohleder of Rockingham, NC.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1300 Baxter St., Suite 101, Charlotte, NC 28204; or a charity of the donor's choice.

Patricia Anne Smith Rohleder

Patricia Anne Smith Rohleder, 60, died Feb. 15, 2000, at her residence.

A native of Wadesboro, N.C., she was born Sept. 24, 1939, to Thomas and Lois (Varnum) Smith and had lived in Reno for the past five years, coming from Buffalo, N.Y.

Mrs. Rohleder was a homemaker and a member of the Board of Realtors in North Carolina and Reno.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are husband, Bill of Reno sons, Korey of Hughes Springs, Texas and Keith of Lockport, N.Y. and daughter, Kelly Dixon of Raleigh, N.C.

A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Streets.

Burial is scheduled for Tuesday at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham, N.C., under the direction of Walton's Funeral Home, Reno.

A memorial fund is being established with St. Mary's Foundation, 235 W. Sixth St., Reno 89520-9914.
