I was born and raised in North Carolina, and graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC, with a double major in vocal performance and religious education. I've also done graduate work at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (LTSS) in Columbia, SC. My MS in Education is from California State University, Hayward.

My husband, Eric, and I lived in four different places (Columbia, SC, Houston, TX, Tiffin, OH, and Charlotte, NC) before moving to California in 1987. We are now retired and living in Tucson, Arizona. In the summer of 1986 we took a whirlwind trip around the United States and went to the Expo in Vancouver. Since then our travels have included the Carribbean, the Holy Land (a cruise on the "Love Boat"), London, Paris and Rome.

And as you can see from the photo, I'm a Star Trek fan!
