Technology Requirements

In order to participate fully in this course you should have the following technologies:

Computer and software

• Computer with Internet connection. Minimum 56K connection is recommended. You may experience slow download times if your connection speed is slower.
• E-mail
• Word processing program capable of saving files as .rtf (rich text format).
• If you would like to create PDF files for submitting your assignments, a free tool is available from PDF995 at http://www.pdf995.com/download.html. It installs as a printer driver on your computer and calls up an advertising web page each time you print. A bit aggravating, but the price is right.
• Compatible Browser
  • Internet Explorer (5.5 or above)
  • Netscape Navigator (4.5, 4.6, 4.7 - but not 4.78)

Software plug-ins

• Capability to listen to audio files. This capability may be standard on your computer. If not, here are links to audio plug-ins. Be sure to install these plug-ins before beginning the course modules.
  • QuickTime
  • Real One Player
• Flash 6 Player
• Adobe's Acrobat Reader
